Ahhh, not long now before going to London, and I can’t wait! Only one month and a half and I’ll be there. Friends from London visited me last week end, I turned myself into a tourist guide, that was funny.I have to choose a new hostel to live in, I don’t know yet which one I’ll choose… Someone has an idea?

ERASMUS PARTIES

Load of my friends told me about this party: Erasmus nights, which take place every thursday at the Mix, famous night club in Montparnasse.
This is an international party for all foreigners students in Paris.
Entrance is free before midnight for all foreigners students.
I’ve never been there, so if someone did, what did you think about it?
Does anyone know the same kind of nights in London?

Cheap guesthouses in London

January 20th, 2008 by noemie in Uncategorized · No Comments

Everybody knows it: London is an awfully expensive city, especially for us, poor students, we are all broke! Moreover, most of internships are not paid. So we have to sort something out, either like asking very gently our parents to help us 6 more months in our life, either saving enough money before leaving.
For my last 4month internship in London, I chose both solutions.
The most difficult thing for me was to choose a place to stay.
A friend of mine just came back from London doing an internship as well, and she stayed in a hostel. She loved it. First I was not very interested in living 4 months in a hostel: sharing my room with random people, dirty bathroom… I didn’t want that at all!
But when I saw the prices of a share house, which is around £120 per week, and the price of a dormroom in a hostel – £70 per week, I made my choice: that would be 4 months of hosteling.
Now, I can definitely say that this time was one of the best in my whole life. So yes, I shared my room with 6 other girls, and bathrooms were common, but that was such a great experience.
The hostel’s atmosphere was awesome, I met loads of great people from all over the world, I met really good friends.
That’s why I recommend everybody a hosteling experience, but only if you want to party a lot, to have fun, to meet lots of different people…. and of course if you’re not scared of lack of sleep!
